Frozen Waves - High Andes Stone Field
by Behanceon Behance

Description
Looking like a sea of white stone waves suddenly frozen in time, these structures can be found in the high Andes of Argentina. The formations originate from massive explosive eruptions thousands of years ago, likely linked to a nearby volcanic system. These eruptions released enormous pyroclastic flows (super-heated clouds of ash, gas, and pumice) that spread across the region and eventually cooled into thick ignimbrite deposits rich in pumice.
